Every JRT show dog in AKC conformation classes must conform to the Parson Russell Terrier breed standard. “All Parson Russell Terriers are Jack Russells,” but “Not every Jack Russell is a Parson Russell Terrier.” Another way to distinguish them is to think of the Parson Russell as a show dog and the Jack Russell as more of a working terrier.
